True, workout routines and physical exercise should focus on fitness and wellbeing rather than just looking good.

If you’ve been skinny all your life, you must’ve grown up wishing for a body that’s fuller and more defined. The bulk up code is not child’s play; it takes you years to understand it. And gaining mass and muscle is an equally tough challenge.
Here are a few tips to follow religiously if you’re looking to bulk:
Not Eating Enough
Turns out lifting weights and following a bodybuilding routine is not key to gaining muscle. Skinny people need to increase their portions to stimulate visible muscle growth. You may be lifting heavy weights for long strenuous training sessions but that will only add 5–6 kg to your bodyweight.
It’s only once you do the math that you realize you actually need to eat a lot more than you’re currently having. Once you figure out how to balance your workout with your diet, you’ll start packing on muscle.
Unrealistic Expectations
Unlike popular discourse, weight gain is actually as much (if not more) hard as weight loss. It all depends on which body type you are and how your metabolism works. Thanks to unrealistic commercials and marketing ads, people are led to believe they can build muscle through a summer boot camp. That’s not always possible.
Depending on how skinny you are, you’ll need supplements, diet plans, and proper nutrition charts to reach were you want to be. Don’t set goals according to the time or effort you’re investing in your workout.
Setting deadlines doesn’t work because weight gain is gradual and progressive. You can only pack on weight if you’re consistent.
Not Following a Solid Plan
If you’re bogged down by the pressure to look muscular or buff, you may start sulking in your body image issues and not do anything. This is not a healthy path to take. In order to see results, you need to follow a plan.
Don’t waste your time being lousy and opening up a random YouTube channel once in a while to follow an unknown trainer.
